Room 1

Originally the grand salon, or drawing room, of the villa, this beautiful room is light, airy and at over 32m², is very spacious.

Located on the first floor of the Villa, this charming room takes its name from the 18th Century affreschi, or frescoes, of the city of Florence (Firenze) which are known to decorate the walls beneath the current 19th Century plasterwork.

The beautiful authentic original terracotta tiled floor, stone mullioned door surrounds and the now aged plaster walls contrast with a large, striking marble en-suite shower room to provide a perfect combination of authentic charm and modern luxury during your stay.

A new and delightfully large four-poster bed will take centre stage from May 2018 and will provide the touch of decadence and glamour that this exceptional room deserves. There is a comfortable large seating area and the two windows in the bedroom, each with its original internal shutters, overlook one of the small streets of the hamlet.

The brand new bathroom benefits from double washbasins, large walk-in shower, toilet and bidet.

Revealing all the frescoes in this large room will require highly skilled and patient (not to mention expensive) art restoration specialists, so is a project for phase II of the renovation.

Mansarda

Room 2

A newly created room on the second floor of the Villa, this is a lovely bright, spacious room offering you the chance to gaze at the milky way from your bed! The roof windows provide wonderful views of the stars, moon and distant hills. The soft colour scheme, high sloping ceilings and original wooden beams contribute to the romantic air this room has.

Accessed via a characterful stone corridor, the room may be arranged as either a superking sized double, or as two singles and has ample space for a seating area and dresser. Built in hanging leaves the room feeling light and airy.

The new en-suite with walk-in shower has a double washbasin in local marble and toilet. No bidet.

The room is reached via the second floor lounge area and, if booked together with the other room leading off from the lounge, “the suite blu”, then you can have exclusive use of the lounge too. This would then provide a large suite of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, lounge and a second lounge or bedroom. This would comfortably accommodate 4 adults and 2 teenagers/children.

Del Prete

Room 3

A very pretty room on the first floor of the Villa, this would once have been a reception room. Newly restored and deliberately plain walls allow the eye to drift upwards to the beautiful barrel vaulted ceiling which still retains some of the early decorative frescoes.

Beds in this room may be arranged as either a Superking size large double bed or as two singles. The room also provides a seating area, desk and wardrobe with ample hanging space.

The newly appointed bathroom once formed part of the study of Carlo Del Prete. Featuring another vaulted ceiling and the original marble fireplace, along with shower, basin, toilet and bidet for your modern day convenience. It is a lovely light room thanks to a large window which looks over one of the small streets of the hamlet, as does the window of the bedroom.

Suite La Torre

Room 4

This stunning suite is the entire north wing of the 2nd floor of the villa. A large lounge with the original marble fireplace, Juliet balcony overlooking the gardens and mountains beyond along with wooden floors and beamed ceilings is your entrance into the suite. Facing west, this room has the best view of the sunsets. Comfortably furnished, this is an exquisite space in which to relax.

From the corridor leading to the bedroom there is a generous bathroom which provides a large walk-in shower, double washbasin, toilet and bidet.

Then through to the very large (ca 30m²) double height bedroom. With a newly crafted chestnut wood ceiling and beautiful exposed stone walls this is a stunning room. The five windows and the Juliet balcony provide 360° views of your surroundings, including of the ‘Pizzo d’uccello’ (Bird’s beak) mountain, the ancient yew tree, garden and the terrace.

Furnishings in this room are flexible.

During Retreats this big bright space is ideal as indoor activity space. The exceptional amount and quality of light flooding in is ideal for painting or art/craft projects and there is also ample space for yoga, pilates or other body-centric classes. A rather special place.

Suite BLU

Room 5

A junior suite or family room on the second floor, this suite offers flexible accommodation for up to 4 people.

Entering into the lounge which can alternatively accommodate either one or two single beds or a double bed, the main bedroom is off to the left and the bathroom to the right. The original wooden beams and ceiling link both the lounge and the bedroom.

In contrast to the plain lounge, the bedroom is painted with a highly decorative blue floral motif and houses a comfortable king-size bed with ample space for a wardrobe and desk/dresser.

The bright and spacious modern bathroom offers a luxury free-standing double ended tub, along with toilet, bidet and washbasin.

Each window in the suite looks East towards the stunning ‘pizzo d’uccello’ (bird’s beak) mountain in the Alpi Apuane.
