“I stayed at Villa Francini for a week in September 2017, much in need of a quiet break. I couldn’t have been more pleased when I drove up to find this beautiful, grand house with its amazing location and views for miles. Kathryn was the perfect host and really made me feel welcome on arrival and throughout my stay there. Inside, the house has clearly been painstakingly restored — keeping the original features, character and frescos wherever possible. My room was charming, with a very comfortable bed and furnishings that perfectly complemented the ‘grand-rustic’ feel of the house itself. The modern en-suite bathroom had some nice designer touches too. In terms of location, a car was a must to visit nearby villages such as Fivizzano, as well as the coast, but simply walking in the surrounding quiet countryside an hour before sunset and returning to the house to see the sun go down in the distance was sublime. I wasn’t sure quite what to expect when I booked, but what I found was a peaceful antidote to the modern world.”

“Sorprendente! Questo è l'aggettivo giusto per questa location selvaggia e quieta, ospitale e riposante. Non è semplicissimo arrivare a Fazzano ma, così come Kathryn si è innamorata di questo luogo un po' magico, anche noi ci siamo sentiti premiati dopo la salita: grazie a Kathryn che l'ha scoperto e lo sta rendendo un posto "giusto"! Presto tutto sarà ineccepibile e il restauro rigoroso renderà merito alla Villa, il cui fascino è tale da far venire voglia di provarla in tutte le stagioni. Per non dire della squisita ospitalità di Kathryn, della sua delicata leggerezza, orgogliosa padrona di questa bella casa. Grazie!”
